The MikroTik RB260GS series is a compact and cost-effective SOHO smart switch designed for small office or home environments. It includes two models: the RB260GS and the RB260GSP. Both models feature five Gigabit Ethernet ports and one SFP cage for fiber connectivity. The RB260GSP model adds passive PoE output on ports 2 through 5, allowing you to power compatible devices directly through the switch using the same input voltage.
Switching is handled by a reliable Atheros AR8327 switch chip, and the devices run MikroTik’s SwOS – a lightweight operating system designed specifically for managed switches. SwOS offers an easy-to-use web interface with a wide range of features including port-to-port forwarding control, MAC filtering, VLAN configuration, traffic mirroring, bandwidth limiting, and basic layer 2 management options.
